Choose a Dryer with Moisture Sensors

When shopping for a new dryer, choose one that has a moisture-sensing feature. A moisture sensor allows the dryer to automatically turn itself off when the clothes reach a specified level of dryness.

Moisture sensors are great, but...let's take it another step. Do what Grandma used to do...dry your clothes outside. Not only are you saving electricity but you get that wonderful fresh smell to take you right back to your childhood.
