The environmental threat of overeating animal protein is still cause for concern, they argue, even with declining popularity. "The kind of ecological damage we have described will occur in direct proportion to the number of people who do adopt the diet."
What you can do
Eat Sustainably: Eating fewer animal products, and choosing organic or
verifiably grass-fed and local when you do, will protect you from mad
cow disease and meat laced with antibiotics and hormones, as well as the
higher risk of obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease connected
with red meat.
