Lawn Weeds
Keep grass thick and healthy to prevent weeds from taking root—mow high (2 to 4 inches), water infrequently but deeply to encourage deep roots and pull weeds early. Fertilizers can leach into waterways, contributing to algae blooms. Instead, use grass clippings, compost or seed your lawn with white Dutch clover to fix nitrogen.
