Finally, now that winter is looming, it's time to prepare for closed-up houses, dry air, dry skin and some weekend trips that don't include the beach. Editorial director Seth Bauer prefers Trader Joe's cleaning supplies to keep his house, and his indoor air, clean. Try their castile soap on any household mess, and cut the chemical load of conventional dryer sheets with their lavender dryer bags (see www.traderjoes.com for store locations). Just like hot summer air, dry winter air can leave you parched, so get yourself a Klean Kanteen stainless-steel water bottle ($20) from www.eConsciousMarket.com, a new online store that allows you to donate to a chosen nonprofit every time you shop. Emily keeps her dry skin at bay with Alaffia Rooibos & Shea Butter Antioxidant Face Cream, which leaves the driest skin feeling good, even in the dead of winter ($14; www.alaffia.com). Solvie likes Dr. Hauschka Hand Cream with kalanchoe extract, a plant from South Africa prized for its soothing qualities ($22.95; www.drhauschka.com). She tosses it in her Green Guru Billboard snowboard bag, made from reclaimed vinyl billboards, on her way to the slopes in Vermont ($99.95; www.ecologicdesigns.com).

We hope you've had a successful 2007 and wish you the best in 2008. Keep an eye out for the new Green Guide magazine, debuting next March. Happy holidays, and we'll see you next year!
