A study of supermarket swordfish and tuna steaks from 21 states and the District of Columbia shows that these seafood products still contain mercury levels unsafe for growing children and pregnant women. Published this summer and sponsored by Oceana, Mercury Policy Project, Clean Water Action and Zero Mercury Campaign, Fair Warning notes the FDA has tried to stop California from putting mercury warnings on canned tuna "claiming that the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act preempts state warnings."

Take Action
