I've had the under-the-counter Culligan water filter for about 3 years. The water tastes excellent -- I think much better than most bottled waters. The initial cost is a bit painful ($900ish), but the annual operating cost is very reasonable ($50 -- after a discount coupon that Culligan always sends out with its "service needed" reminder).
