Kohler San Raphael K-3393

Aside from its relatively steep price and the need for a GFI-protected outlet in very close proximity, the San Raphael is very nearly flawless. Unlike conventional toilets, which utilize gravity, the San Raphael employs a two horsepower electric pump to create what Kohler bills as "the most powerful residential flush available." An electric pump-powered toilet isn't as outlandish as it might seem. The San Raphael dispatches potent payloads with a blast of water that's as close to silent as you'll find. Just as importantly, it lasts much less time than most flushes--one to two seconds--and uses less water than even "water saver" 1.6 gallon toilets. The San Raphael offers the user a choice of two flushes--a brief, one gallon flush for liquid waste, and a longer 1.4 gallon blast for solids. The K3393 is housed in a sleek, low-profile package which belies the technology "under the hood." It is available in numerous contemporary colors as well as unbiquitous white.
