I live in a one bedroom apt. and this thing is too loud! It makes a continuous humming from the air pump. Then it enters a grinding mode of continuous mechanical whirring, interrupted every 30 seconds by a loud bang. Sounds like you loaded your dishwasher wrong. The first time I heard it I grabbed my knife b/c I thought someone had broke into the apt!
Really, even inside a cabinet, in another room, with doors closed, I still can't live with this. Too bad, b/c I waited a long time to get it!
